Time again for another grocery haul. I went to a few different stores this time. I purchased the usual things that we use on a daily basis as well as a couple items for Olivia’s upcoming birthday. AND…I am continuing to stock up my long term pantry. Keep stocking up!
The weather this spring has been very wacky, even for Indiana! We went from snow the day after Easter, to 80 degrees 5 days later! In this weeks vlog I take you through the ups and downs of the weather her in Northern Indiana. On the cold days I spend my time cooking and cleaning. On the warm days I do more gardening and give you an update of how things are growing. And of course, there’s a Dollar General haul thrown in the mix. So, come along and spend the week with me!
We’ve made it through another holiday. It doesn’t seem possible that Easter is already over, yet it is. In this video I take down my Easter decorations and decorate my home in my “every day” or summer decor. It will be the decor that stays up until September when I begin decorating for fall. So, come decorate with me!
In this video I use my home milled flour to make a family favorite….cinnamon rolls! They didn’t turn out as fluffy as my white flour yeast cinnamon rolls that I make for Christmas, but they were still very delicious. They were more dense, yet tender and moist, and very flavorful. It is fun experimenting with home milled flour and I plan to do more baking with it in the future, so stay tuned!
In this week’s vlog there’s a whole lotta homesteading going on! Yes, it is spring and it is time to get out in the garden and plant those early spring crops. The weather cooperated (mostly) so we were able to make a lot of progress in the garden. In this vlog I also give my opinion on the Everlywell blood tests that I’ve been doing. Do I like them? Do I think they are accurate? Do I think they are worth the money? You’ll have to watch to find out. Of course there is a Dollar General haul, it seems we go there every week. And, if you watch all the way to the end, I give an update on Olivia’s tooth. Does she need a root canal? And, I will give a health update on Oliver and Sally’s annual vet visit. I can’t believe that Easter is this Sunday! It seems that spring just started and here it is Easter already. But, to be honest, I’m really glad that it’s Easter and that we are seeing warmer and warmer days and less cold. In this grocery haul I pick up a few things for our Easter dinner, as well as our regular shopping, and of course a few extra thing for our extended pantry.
Things are ramping up around here in preparation for the growing season. I am working overtime getting seeds started and I am getting very anxious to get things in the garden. (I know it’s way too early for most things.) In the spring I am raring to go wanting to get things planted and to see the growth of a new gardening year. Many years in the past I have not done much in the way of vegetable gardening, but his year I am putting all my effort into making the most of the ground that we have available to grow food. I just hope my energy and enthusiasm is the same come July when it’s 100 degrees outside!! This week I am starting more seeds, doing some cleaning (that’s a never ending job, doing some cooking, and of course there’s an Ollie and Sally sighting. So, come along and spend the week with me!
I know I am not the only one who has areas in their home that often get neglected and cleaning and organizing them happens “tomorrow”, but tomorrow never comes. Well, today’s the day! In this video I tackle several areas in my home that have been needing attention for quite a while and I’ve been putting it off. Let’s get motivated to clean those “forgotten” areas!
It’s time again for Olivia and my monthly thrift shopping day! Of course, these days with gas prices as high as they are, you need to do all your errands in one trip. So, in this haul you will see all the items we purchased on this day from all of our stops. As always, Twice Treasured didn’t fail and I, once again, found some super cute items.
I have found that I really like doing weeks in the life rather than just focusing on one day. One individual day may be kind of boring to watch because some days I really don’t do a whole lot. But, when I take snippets from my week, the most interesting parts of my week, it makes for a much more interesting and entertaining video. So, it is my goal to start doing weekly vlogs, not day in the life vlogs. In this week in my life, I took care of animals, did my next Everlywell blood test, celebrated my birthday, of course there is a haul, and much more. So, come on along and spend the week with me!
